THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE WORK

Expert people.
Experimental capability.

SinoVolt brings together the UK client relationship and Microe’s scientific and engineering capability in Poland, connecting research questions with analysis, testing and practical conclusions.

SCIENTIFIC & ENGINEERING EXPERTISE

Professors, PhDs
and practising engineers.

Microe’s team brings together academic expertise and industrial engineering. That combination supports the design of research methods, technical interpretation and expert studies grounded in how electrical systems operate.

  • Applied research and technical expert studies
  • Electrical system analysis and engineering diagnostics
  • Research methodologies and interpretation of findings

MICROE’S OWN LABORATORY / POLAND

Medium-voltage research
and technical validation.

Microe’s own laboratory supports work on low- and medium-voltage switchgear, electrical apparatus, measurement, control and protection systems. It connects engineering analysis with physical investigation.

  • Functional checks and protection-system validation
  • Measurements, diagnostics and prototype development
  • Pre-compliance work and preparation for further testing

ACADEMIC COLLABORATION THROUGH MICROE

Microe × IBS
Warsaw University of Technology

Microe collaborates with the Instytut Badań Stosowanych Politechniki Warszawskiej on research and development, technical expert studies and international initiatives for industry and the power sector.

This scientific connection complements Microe’s engineering and laboratory capability. The specialists and facilities involved in a SinoVolt commission are identified in the project proposal.

01 / WHAT WE DO

Research and expert studies
with an engineering purpose.

Commission a focused technical study, a laboratory investigation or a wider research programme. We define the methods and deliverables around the evidence your decision actually needs.

01

Technical research & expert studies

Investigate electrical engineering questions, evaluate technical evidence and establish what needs further verification. Combine scientific review with engineering analysis for industry, technology development and research programmes.

Expert technical opinionsLiterature & standards reviewsResearch methodologies
YOUR OUTPUT

A referenced technical study, expert conclusions and clear research priorities.

02

Feasibility & options appraisal

Assess whether an approach can work, under which conditions and against which alternatives. Make assumptions, dependencies and implementation barriers explicit.

Technical feasibilityScenario analysisDevelopment roadmaps
YOUR OUTPUT

An options comparison, feasibility assessment and recommended next steps.

03

Electrical safety, testing & validation

Investigate failure mechanisms, arc-flash hazards and protection performance. Combine technical analysis with laboratory validation through Microe, with specialist partner facilities engaged for additional testing where needed.

Arc-flash & failure analysisLaboratory validationProtection & diagnostics
YOUR OUTPUT

A safety or validation report, test findings and prioritised technical recommendations.

04

Techno-economic & investment studies

Connect technical choices with cost, benefit and uncertainty. Evaluate energy projects and technology pathways before committing to the next stage.

Cost–benefit analysisSensitivity & scenariosInvestment priorities
YOUR OUTPUT

A transparent assessment model and a decision brief explaining the trade-offs.

02 / START WITH THE QUESTION

What does your project
need to establish?

Examples of how a commission can be structured. Each brief is scoped to the available data, required expertise and intended decision.

ILLUSTRATIVE COMMISSION / ENERGY SYSTEMS

Can a technical change work across an existing electrical system?

Compare system requirements, operating constraints and transition options before recommending a path forward.

A possible scope

  1. Review requirements, available data and technical evidence.
  2. Compare scenarios and identify limiting assumptions.
  3. Assess transition risks and further verification needs.
  4. Deliver an options report and implementation roadmap.

Sector specialists and stakeholder input are identified during scoping.

03 / HOW WE WORK

The right work.
In the right place.

Analysis and research can be delivered from Poland. Workshops, site visits and physical testing are planned around the evidence your project needs, with travel and specialist inputs included in the agreed scope.

01

Define the decision

Agree the research questions, available data, deliverables and acceptance criteria.

02

Build the work plan

Identify methods, people, any facilities, milestones and the full delivery budget.

03

Investigate & review

Develop the evidence, discuss interim findings and check the analysis against the brief.

04

Deliver & explain

Present conclusions, limitations and recommendations, with a clear handover of the agreed outputs.

A CLEAR DELIVERY STRUCTURE

Your UK project partner.
Scientific depth through Microe.

SinoVolt International Limited is a UK-registered company led by Dr Marcin Mackiewicz. It provides the contracting and project coordination route for commissions.

Microe PSA in Poland brings the scientific team, engineering expertise and its own medium-voltage laboratory into the delivery model. People, laboratory scope, work packages and responsibilities are agreed for each project.

Analysis, laboratory work and UK site visits are combined as required. Additional specialist testing is arranged with suitable partner facilities when needed.

WHAT A GOOD STUDY LEAVES YOU WITH

A conclusion you can examine.
A next step you can act on.

  • Evidence linked to its sources
  • Methods and assumptions explained
  • Uncertainty made visible
  • Recommendations tied to the findings

04 / LET’S DEFINE YOUR PROJECT
